3-vehicle crash caused by medical emergency leaves woman dead, others hospitalized

Preliminary reports show that a 77-year-old woman was driving when she experienced a medical emergency causing her to crash into two other vehicles.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed that a woman is dead and others have been hospitalized after a driver suffered a medical emergency while driving.

Around 10 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of North Leona Street and Perez Street after receiving reports of a major accident.

Preliminary reports show that a 77-year-old woman was driving northbound on Leona Street when she experienced a medical emergency causing her to crash into two other vehicles at the intersection.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a total of five people were reportedly injured by the collision, with a portion of them being hospitalized.
