4-chair turn for San Antonio 21-year-old on The Voice Blind Auditions

Britton Moore sang Cold Play’s “Yellow” in his audition, wowing all four of the coaches.

SAN ANTONIO — A young man from San Antonio wowed all four of the coaches on Monday night’s episode of The Voice Blind Auditions, getting a much-coveted 4-chair turn.

Britton Moore, who is 21 and graduated from Ronald Reagan High School, told the judges and audience that he was signed up to try out for The Voice back when he was a senior in high school a few years back. He ended up not doing it that year because his baseball team made the Texas 6A Championship playoffs and he didn’t want to miss out on playing with his team. Britton’s parents are Alicia and Jonathan Moore, pastors of NorthRock Church in San Antonio.

Britton sang “Yellow” by Coldplay, and had just started the song when Adam Levine turned his chair around. By the end of the song, Coaches Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend and Michael Bublé had all turned their chairs as well, giving the young San Antonian a 4-chair turn to close out the show Monday night.

Britton’s high upper range rivals the falsetto of Coach Adam Levine, and he pulled off the difficult song with ease.

Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine is no stranger to hitting those high notes and told Moore, “I turned around way before anyone else… When I heard you go into your falsetto, I was like, I need to coach this guy. I just felt like an instant connection with you and I pushed really early because I thought this kid’s going to be special.”

John Legend also praised his talent saying, “Singing falsetto is actually really hard in a live setting. I always tell my artists, ‘Your falsetto will betray you when you need it most.’ And yours did not. Nobody sounds like you on the show. It would be so fun to coach you.”

Michael Bublé said, “I turned last partly because I wanted to be sure but also because I have FOMO (fear of missing out). I’m glad I turned. I’m glad I’m a part of the party.”

“I know that I’m a country artist, but I want continue to always evolve and do more than one thing,” said Kelsea Ballerini.

She then hit another button on her chair that plays a snippet of her singing “I’m calling dibs” from her song “Dibs,” in an effort to try and get him to choose her over the other three coaches. It didn’t work.

Britton Moore ended up choosing Adam Levine to be his coach. This was the second time so far this season that Coach Adam Levine has won a 4-chair turn.
