4 UTSA players make American preseason all-conference baseball team

UTSA was also picked to finish second in the conference preseason poll, narrowly trailing East Carolina Pirates.

SAN ANTONIO — Four UTSA Roadrunners earned preseason honors Tuesday as the American Conference released its preseason all-conference baseball team and poll.

Drew Detlefsen, Connor Kelley, Robert Orloski and Andrew Stucky were all named to the preseason all-conference team, the most selections of any school in the league.

UTSA was also picked to finish second in the conference preseason poll, narrowly trailing East Carolina Pirates.

The Roadrunners, coming off a historic 47-15 season, received four first-place votes and finished with 70 total points, just behind East Carolina’s 75. UTSA is the reigning regular-season conference champion and advanced to an NCAA Super Regional last season, marking the program’s first-ever top-10 national finish.

Under head coach Pat Hallmark, the Roadrunners return a strong core of talent. Detlefsen, a senior outfielder, led the team in home runs and RBIs in 2025. Kelley and Orloski anchor the pitching staff after standout seasons on the mound, while Stucky returns as one of the conference’s top catchers following a first-team all-conference campaign.

The Roadrunners will look to build on last season’s success as they enter the new year with high expectations across the conference.
