ZAVALA COUNTY, Texas — A 4-year-old boy died after an incident at a home in La Pryor Sunday, according to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the residence for a “gunshot wound involving a 4-year-old child.” Authorities did not specify what exactly happened.
The child was air lifted to a trauma center in San Antonio, where he later died from his injuries.
“The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time. Out of respect for the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” the department said in a Facebook post.
The investigation remains ongoing.
