Atascosa County officials confirmed a young girl was found dead in a car on Tuesday afternoon, launching an investigation.
POTEET, Texas — Atascosa County authorities say a 4-year-old girl was found dead in a car outside her Poteet home Tuesday afternoon.
It’s unclear at this point if she was left in the vehicle or got into it herself, according to Sheriff Jake Guerra. A cause of death has not been determined, but the Poteet Police Department is investigating.
Afternoon highs in the region reached triple-digits on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Poteet police officers as well as Atascosa County EMS were seen in the area.
