
DALLAS — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck near Ackerly Monday evening, briefly rattling parts of the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake hit the small community about one hour north of Midland, Texas, around 7:45 p.m.
Residents in Midland, Lubbock, San Antonio and Dallas reported feeling the tremor on X, formerly known as Twitter.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
This comes nearly two months after a previous earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 jolted Scurry County.
