67-year-old man arrested after machete attack outside San Antonio food mart, BCSO says

A victim was found with several lacerations that required 30 stitches after allegedly being attacked by a machete-wielding man.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 67-year-old man accused of attacking a man with a machete outside of a local food mart.

On Aug. 16, BCSO responded to the Talley Food Mart after receiving reports of a machete-wielding suspect.

Upon arrival, deputies said the suspect had already left the scene.

The next day, the victim was found with several lacerations that required up to 30 stitches and he told deputies he wanted to pursue charges.

The suspect was identified as 67-year-old Jorge Ariel Gonzalez Lopez and on Aug. 19, BCSO executed a search warrant on his home.

Lopez, along with clothing from the day of the attack and blood evidence, was found inside the home.

Deputies arrested Lopez as he now faces two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
