After the collision, EMS loaded the man in the ambulance, but on the way to the hospital police say he did die.
SAN ANTONIO — A man in his 70s is dead after trying to cross the road on the far northwest side, according to police.
Just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the man was crossing against traffic around the 9700 block of Braun Road, police say. That’s when one vehicle slowed down to avoid him, however another vehicle hit the man in the process.
EMS loaded the man in the ambulance but on the way to the hospital he did die.
Both drivers stopped to render aid and no criminal charges will be filed.
The man has been identified as 71-year-old Jesse T. Hartshorne. His cause of death was blunt force injury to the head.
