
The woman lived alone with her three dogs and birds, according to SAFD.
SAN ANTONIO — A 78-year-old woman is now dead after her home caught fire early Thursday morning, according to SAFD.
SAPD first arrived at the home located in the 200 block of Southill around 3:30 a.m. They were told by neighbors that the house was on fire by neighbors and that the woman was inside.
Police were not able to enter the home due to the heavy smoker. Once firefighters arrived, they were able to pull the woman out of the home but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arson investigators have been called out to the house to try to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries to any firefighters were reported.
The house sustained moderate damage to the back of the house.
The deceased woman was 78 and lived alone with three dogs and some birds.
