
Police say a 9-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being struck by a bullet while in his front yard early Thursday morning.
SAN ANTONIO — A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after being struck by a bullet during a shooting on the city’s southeast side early Thursday morning, according to police.
The incident happened around midnight in the 400 block of Delmar Street. Officers with the San Antonio Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in progress and found the child suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremities.
Police say the boy was in the front yard of his home when he was hit. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Investigators say it is unclear who fired the weapon, and no suspect information is available at this time. No arrests have been made.
The shooting remains under investigation, and police say details may change as they continue to gather information.
