
A large, multimillion-dollar data center is slated for construction on the Far Westside of San Antonio near Microsoft’s massive data center. Project details call for a roughly $96 million, 242,667-square-foot data center located at 14720 Omicron Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78245, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Filing details suggest the project is owned by Vantage Data Centers.
The facility, named “TX11” in the filing, will be a two-story, data center that includes four data halls with a electrical demands of 8 megawatts each. It will also have support spaces, office areas, shipping and receiving, and storage areas, according to the filing. Construction was set to start last Friday, December 15, and is expected to finish in September 2026.
The filing doesn’t name which company is behind the data center. However, Vantage Data Centers bought 57.8 acres from the University of Texas System Board of Regents in July. The owner address of 2820 Northwestern Pkwy., Santa Clara, California 95051, which is the address of Vantage’s Santa Clara 1 Data Center Campus. The LinkedIn account for Rob Gire, who is on the filing as the project’s owner, lists him as a principal construction Manager with more than three years at the company.
