A country music superstar will headline the F1 US Grand Prix at COTA this year

Norwegian DJ Kygo and “red dirt” country band Turnpike Troubadours will also headline during race weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas — A country music superstar will take the stage during this year’s Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

On Tuesday, COTA announced the music headliners for race weekend in October, including country legend Garth Brooks, who will perform on Saturday, Oct. 18. The headliner on Friday, Oct. 17, will be Norwegian DJ Kygo and “red dirt” country band Turnpike Troubadours will headline on Sunday, Oct. 19, after the Grand Prix.

Brooks remains a very popular artist, but in recent years, he’s become pretty hard to catch live. He rose to prominence in the ’80s and ’90s, scoring massive hits and worldwide attention for his record-breaking concerts. Brooks is the only artist in music history to have released nine albums that were certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and he remains the best-selling solo artist in the U.S., according to the RIAA.

Brooks briefly retired in the early 2000s and since his partial comeback in 2005, he has played only select performances and limited residencies. His performance in Austin this fall is his only scheduled appearance for the rest of 2025.

Meanwhile, Kygo garnered international recognition in the mid-2010s, reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify faster than any other artist in 2015, then reaching 2 billion streams the following year. The Turnpike Troubadours, who hail from Oklahoma, are well-known within the red dirt, Americana and country rock subgenres.
