A family was forced to relocate after their home was shot up. Then, the same thing happened at the house they were staying at

A woman living with her parents and daughter left their home after a barrage of bullets. Then, her brother’s house was also targeted.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Two teens have been arrested for allegedly shooting up 10 homes in west Harris County and another home in Fort Bend County. All of the shootings have happened since April.

One victim said her house was hit with more than 20 bullets while she and her family were asleep late last month.

The woman was so scared that she left her home to stay with her brother, but while she and her family were staying there, his house was also shot up.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators said 19-year-old Juan Galvez and 18-year-old Josue Umana Guzman are being charged in connection with the shootings.

Fort Bend County shooting

A warzone is how the victim described the sounds she heard outside her home on June 28. She said bullets came without warning and tore through her house while her family slept. She lives with her 72-year-old parents and her 9-year-old daughter.

“It was 28 bullets they shot at my house in Fort Bend,” the victim, who didn’t want to be identified, said.

The shooting was caught on surveillance video.

She said she was sleeping in a bedroom with her daughter when several bullets hit their room.

“My daughter wasn’t able to get up. I covered her with my body,” she said. “I was praying … God, protect us. Save our lives.”

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but with her sense of security gone, she chose to pack up and get everyone to her brother’s house.

Another shooting incident

On July 6, the house where the Fort Bend County family went for comfort and safety was also targeted.

The house was hit with 14 bullets, which all entered the home.

“I cannot believe it. First, I was asking myself what do they want? How do they know us? Why are they targeting us?” the victim said.

She said she has no criminal record and has no idea why she and her family would be targeted. Now, she’s hoping justice will stop the violence before more families are hurt.

“Because if they do it once, they will do it again if they go out in the streets,” she said.

The woman said she’s still getting treatment for anxiety and panic attacks that started after the shootings.

Teens charged

HCSO investigators said Galvez and Guzman shot up at least 11 homes — 10 in Harris County and one in Fort Bend County.

According to court documents, the guns they were arrested with matched the casings found at the homes that were shot up.

Both teens are being held at the Harris County Jail, and their bond was set at $100,000 each.

Investigators said they’re still trying to figure out a motive for the attacks.
