SAN ANTONIO — Tuesday marks, three years since the double murder of two teenage boys.
Police say they were shot multiple times and died at a south-side apartment complex but to this day, no arrest have been made.
San Antonio Police said it was just before 3 a.m. on July 29, 2022, when officers responded to a call in the 1700 block of Pleasanton Road at the Union Pines Apartments.
When police arrived, they found 15-year-old Angelray Garcia and his friend, 19-year-old Gregorio Cordova-Mejia, both shot multiple times in a breezeway. They both died at the scene.
Jesica Martinez is the mother of Angelray and said he was just two weeks shy of his 16th birthday and was just starting his life.
“We were working on his first job, trying to see where we’re gonna get him in his first job and we were planning his first car,” said Martinez.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and Martinez said tips have come in.
“There has been a development in the case that a female could have been involved in setting up the boys,” she said.
Although tips have come in, the case remains unsolved. Martinez said not having justice for her son, has been difficult for the family.
“We think about Angelray everyday. Everyday is challenging for me and the family to get through. We have memories of Angelray everywhere. In our home and in our life and he’s greatly missed and loved,” said Martinez.
Martinez said she believes in the justice system and believes they will get justice for her son.
Martinez also says knowing the person responsible for his death would give her some closure.
“It would bring peace to me in the family, knowing that this killer’s off the streets,” said Martinez.
We did reach out to SAPD, who says there are no updates on the case but they do urge anyone with information to call their Homicide Unit at 210-207-7635. Police say your tip could be critical to the investigation.
