HOUSTON — Authorities say an argument over a parking spot at a popular shopping mall led to a fight and a woman allegedly physically assaulted a mother and her two daughters.
According to court documents, the incident happened on Dec. 22 at Memorial City Mall. Two girls — one 14 and the other 11 — were standing in a parking space holding it for their parents. A car approached, and authorities said 30-year-old Trina Marie Vazquez asked the girls to move so she could park in the space they were standing in.
The girls refused to move. Their mother arrived and engaged in an argument. That is when Vazquez allegedly got physical with the mother and the two girls.
“It’s alleged that one complainant was grabbed by the hair and hit,” a Harris County court official said Monday. “It’s alleged that the mom got hit as well, and it’s alleged that the other complainant, who was 11, allegedly got pushed to the ground.”
Two men, believed to be the two women’s significant others, stepped in to break up the altercation. Vazquez left but was later arrested after police were called about the incident.
Vazquez appeared in probable cause court Monday.
She is charged with two counts of injury to a child and one count of assault causing bodily injury.
Court records show Vazquez is out on bond, and her next court date is in January.
