Acadiana Cafe announces it will close at the end of August

SAN ANTONIO — A staple restaurant in San Antonio that had been around for decades announced it will close its doors at the end of August.

Acadiana Cafe, which has been serving Cajun and Southern style cooking since 1986, said in a press release it will operate through Thursday, August 29. 

The release said the building and property was being sold to the Hacienda Vallarta Restaurant group and will become a Mexican buffet.

“The Acadiana Café building and property is being sold to the Hacienda Vallarta Restaurant Group. While their concept will be Mexican Buffet style service, they will have access to all the Acadiana Café recipes…… award winning catfish, chicken and dumplings, Cajun cabbage, red beans n rice, etc.” the post read.

The owners also said they plan to have a farewell party and will post the details about that.
