An arrest affidavit alleges a man who was asked to leave a nightclub in Stone Oak last weekend threatened security with a gun before being shot by a guard.
SAN ANTONIO — An arrest affidavit is shedding new light on a shooting last weekend at a Stone Oak nightclub that left a suspect hospitalized after he was allegedly shot by a security guard.
Investigators said 35-year-old Kendall Hutchinson is now facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident at Qulture Club, located in the 700 block of East Sonterra Boulevard.
According to the affidavit, officers determined Hutchinson was intoxicated and refused to leave the club at closing time. On-site security escorted him to his vehicle, where investigators said he began threatening the guards, telling them, “When I get to my car, I’m going to kill you.”
Detectives said Hutchinson then pulled out a handgun equipped with a green laser. When one guard noticed the laser pointed at another guard, he ordered Hutchinson to drop the weapon, according to police.
Investigators said Hutchinson refused to comply and the guard fired his weapon, striking Hutchinson twice.
Hutchinson was taken to a hospital where he remains as of last check.
This is an ongoing investigation.
