Christopher Patrick Uresti, a former teacher at Southwest ISD, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student.
SAN ANTONIO — A former teacher at Southwest ISD is accused of grooming and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student after she made an outcry to school officials, prompting an investigation.
Records show 23-year-old Christopher Patrick Uresti was arrested after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior and the child’s claims that he had sexually assaulted her in three incidents.
Uresti, a former district employee, resigned from Southwest ISD after a district official reported him for inappropriate behavior involving texting with students and sending inappropriate messages, according to the arrest warrant. A school official told investigators Uresti claimed to be a coach and requested to attend school games, which was not part of his job.
After his resignation, the arrest affidavit states Uresti would attend school events at Scobee Middle School and other districts, prompting parental complaints and a criminal trespass warning from Southwest ISD.
A district official reported that they had spoken with a 12-year-old student who had been messaging with Uresti. Records say the student disclosed that she had been communicating with Uresti but claimed he was her cousin. The victim’s mother later confirmed to school officials that Uresti was not related to the family.
In May, investigators state the student was struggling in a class and when speaking to her teacher, she revealed an incident involving a sexual encounter had occurred more than once, prompting the teacher to report it to authorities.
The victim told investigators she met Uresti in 5th grade while at Kriewald Elementary where he was a substitute teacher. She said peers believed she had a crush on Uresti because he would buy her snacks.
In 2024, while attending Scobee Middle School, the victim and Uresti reconnected via Instagram and text, according to the affidavit.
The 12-year-old claimed she was sexually assaulted by Uresti three times between February and March of 2025.
In the first incident, investigators said Uresti picked up the student at 2 a.m. and drove to a dark neighborhood. The girl alleged that he told her to get in the back seat where he forced her to perform sexual acts.
Records state she resisted and attempted to escape, ultimately fleeing through a ditch after he unlocked the door.
In a second incident, investigators said he texted the victim late on a weekend, threatening to knock on the door if she didn’t come outside. The girl told investigators she thought he was there to apologize.
She claims she got into the car, he drove to the same previous location and proceeded to sexually assault her again. She told investigators she kicked him in the face and jumped in the front seat to get dressed before running away.
In the third incident, Uresti picked the girl up on a school night, drove to the same location and once again sexually assaulted her before dropping her off back at home around 1 a.m.
Following an investigation into the allegations, Uresti was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. His bond is set at $300,000.
SWISD provided KENS 5 with the following statement:
“In October of last year, we received reports of inappropriate behavior by substitute teacher Christopher Uresti, including texting and playing video games with students. The district immediately launched a thorough investigation, during which Mr. Uresti resigned from the district. At the conclusion of our review, no credible evidence of sexual misconduct was found at that time.
The recent allegations of sexual assault surfaced after Mr. Uresti was no longer employed with the district. These allegations are deeply troubling, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.”
