AFFIDAVIT: Man arrested after allegedly attacking employee at north-side fast food restaurant

Investigators say a man faces a felony charge after allegedly attacking a restaurant employee and causing severe injuries over a food order dispute.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is facing a felony charge after police say he attacked an employee at a north side fast food restaurant over his food order.

According to an arrest warrant, 41-year-old Patrick Wilbanks was arrested this week in connection with an incident that happened March 4 at the Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers at The Quarry.

Police say Wilbanks became upset about his order and reached over the counter, slapping an employee.

According to investigators, the confrontation escalated when the employee followed him outside in an attempt to take a photo. Officers say Wilbanks threw a drink on the woman, grabbed her and slammed her onto a table.

The victim suffered a fractured rib and a fracture in her spine as a result of the impact, according to the warrant.

Authorities say surveillance video from the restaurant helped detectives identify and locate Wilbanks.

He is charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
