AFFIDAVIT: SA teen arrested after viral TikTok links her to pepper-spray attack on River Walk boat

Arrest records detail how a viral TikTok led to the arrest of a San Antonio teen accused of pepper-spraying a woman and 3-year-old child on a River Walk tour boat.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio teen was arrested after she allegedly pepper-sprayed passengers on River Walk tour boat, injuring a woman, a 3-year-old child and several others—according to an arrest affidavit.

Arrest records show, 17-year-old Kasidy Luz Trevino was taken into custody last Wednesday and booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of injury to a child, injury to an elderly person and assault causing bodily injury.

The incident happened November 15 along the River Walk near East Commerce and North Presa Street.

According to an arrest affidavit, San Antonio Park Police officers responded to reports of an assault in progress in which multiple people had been pepper-sprayed by a woman during a guided riverboat tour.

When officers arrived, they found several victims suffering pain, burning sensations and prolonged difficulty breathing, according to investigators.

The affidavit states an argument broke out between Trevino and a 68-year-old woman while on the boat. Trevino was asked to leave and she did. When the boat was later secured beneath a footbridge, investigators say Trevino walked above the vessel and sprayed pepper spray onto the passengers below.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing Trevino pepper-spray the victims, according to officials.

The victim recorded the earlier verbal confrontation on her cellphone. Investigators say the video clearly shows the suspect’s face, clothing and voice. After the attack, the victim uploaded the footage to TikTok, where it gained widespread attention.

Investigators said several people contacted the victim through TikTok saying they recognized the suspect and provided Trevino’s name, date of birth and address. Investigators confirmed her identity through a driver’s license photo.

Trevino’s probation officer contacted investigators after seeing the video, stating they recognized the suspect and providing identifying information, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said an SAPD Street Crimes Unit officer also identified Trevino after viewing the TikTok video, saying he had previously arrested her and saw her outside her home frequently. He provided a mugshot that matched other photos investigators had already obtained.

Investigators also received several Crime Stoppers tips from people who had seen the widely shared video and provided consistent identifying information, the affidavit states.

Trevino was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Bexar County Jail.
