Investigators say 18-year-old Avin Poole is accused of shooting a woman in the chest in December. That investigation revealed a shocking twist.
SAN ANTONIO — An arrest warrant reveals chilling new details in a shooting that started with a fight on social media and ended with a woman fighting for her life.
Investigators say when police responded to a 911 call, they found a door busted in and a 19-year-old woman shot in the chest. Police learned the victim argued with an old friend on Instagram and that’s when the woman’s boyfriend got involved.
Police say the friend’s sister threatened to bring the fight to the victim’s front door. According to that arrest warrant, she followed through with the threat and brought 18-year-old Avin Poole with her.
Police say the woman kicked the victim’s door in and Poole pulled out a gun, looked the victim in the eye and pulled the trigger. The two took off.
Poole was caught four days later after trying to run from police and slapped with an evading charge.
This case has another shocking twist, SAPD says he’s a person of interest in the murder of a 38-year-old man that happened along West Cesar Chavez and SW 36th Street back in October.
Investigators say that shooting started as an argument over a stolen TV. It’s unclear how he was involved. Poole has not been charged in that case.
As for the December shooting, Poole faces a charge of burglary with intent to commit another felony. He has since been released from jail on a bond of $275,000.
