Affordable telehealth launches next year in Texas for only $10 per visit

TenDollarTelehealth is launching in January 2026 as a cost-effective way to get healthcare.

SAN ANTONIO — Soon, you may be able to go to the doctor for just $10. For those bracing for record insurance premium hikes when Affordable Care Act subsidies expire at the end of this year, affordable health care is a must. Cost-effective telehealth is one option many don’t consider at a time when managing money matters most.

The Kaiser Family Foundation projects that health care premiums could cost the average family about $1,000 more annually. For many families, that cost is coming at a time when they need to save cash for the quickly approaching Christmas holiday.

Dr. Renee Dua, a TenDollarTelehealth medical adviser, told KENS 5, “In the next several months, something like 24 million people stand to lose their coverage. Additionally, 70 million people are on high-deductible health plans.”

A survey conducted by TenDollarTelehealth looked at 1,000 Americans between the ages of 25 and 55, with a median income of $75,000. It found more than half—56%—spend more than $1,500 out-of-pocket annually on health care. That cost is especially burdensome for those without insurance.

In Texas, 16.7% of the population—more than 5 million residents—are uninsured, the highest rate in the nation, making cost-effective telehealth a valuable option.

Dr. Dua added, “You don’t have to go anywhere. If you have a phone—a smartphone, a landline—you can make a phone call and you can have a visit with the doctor.”

Starting Jan. 12, TenDollarTelehealth will offer services to Texans. It will cost $10 to sign up and $10 per visit, and you don’t need insurance. The first 10,000 members to enroll will lock in $10-per-year memberships and $10-per-visit pricing for life.

“There’s no insurance. There is no copay. There is no deductible. There is no paperwork. There is no scheduling. We made it as simple as possible. And it’s that inexpensive because we’ve removed all of the bureaucracy,” Dr. Dua said.
