After capturing NBA Rising Stars MVP, Spurs’ Stephon Castle is eager to face the LeBron James-led Team OG

Castle takes home the Rising Stars MVP and is penciled in for Sunday’s All-Star Game tournament.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Stephon Castle captured the 2025 NBA Rising Stars Game MVP for his efforts in leading Team C to the NBA All-Star Game tournament, which will be played Sunday night.

Castle recorded six points, including the game-winning shot, in the opening game against Team T and added 12 against Team G League in the final match.

“I deliver myself as a two-way player, so I just try to impact the game in as many ways as I can and help our team win,” Castle said to TNT Sports.

Castle became the first Spurs player to win the MVP trophy at the event and will next face Team OG, which boasts a roster of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Jaylen Brown and Kyrie Irving.

“I mean, just me personally, not just looking at my career to be able to play against those guys I’ve been watching forever,” he said. “My first All-Star Weekend is definitely a blessing.”

He could get a trifecta of hardware if Castle and Team C prevail.

In addition to taking home the Rising Stars MVP award, Castle showed some premium moves in finishing second in the Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night.

He’s confident in Team C and what it can do on the court on Sunday evening.

“I feel like our team was super versatile. We have shooters, guys that can defend. We have (Zach) Edey in there blocking shots,” he said. “I feel like Coach Mullin drafted a great team, and you’ve seen the result.”

Should Castle and Team C advance in the All-Star Game tournament, he could face his teammate Victor Wembanyama, who is playing for Team Chuck, setting up an intriguing matchup.

“Just come out there, play my game, and play with confidence. Do whatever I needed to do for it to help us win. Just use my whole versatility to my advantage.”

Sunday night’s schedule:

  • Kenny’s Young Stars play Chuck’s Global Stars (including Victor Wembanyama) at 7:20 p.m.
  • Candace’s Rising Stars (including Stephon Castle) play Shaq’s OGs at 8:10 p.m.
  • The winners play at 9 p.m.
