SAN ANTONIO — Law enforcement uncovered drugs, drones, body armor and several different types of guns at a bust on the north side of San Antonio Friday.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), San Antonio police and fire departments responded to the scene along the 13000 block of Stoney Hill.
According to an arrest affidavit, Jon Carter Wood is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute drugs and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The affidavit says officers found Crystal Meth, Fentanyl, seven rifles, two shotguns, five handguns, gun parts, ammunition, gun magazines, body armor, drones, cell phones. The weapons were said to be staged around the home in a way to be quickly accessed, such as above a closet door. Agents also found a secret methamphetamine conversion lab in the garage of the home.
The affidavit also says Wood stated in his interview that he was using the secret lab to convert liquid methamphetamine into crystal methamphetamine.
Photos from the scene show the items recovered placed along the front yard of the home, causing alarm among neighbors.
“Almost looked like a movie set,” said neighbor Yvette Harm. “It’s pretty jarring.”
Harm said she and her husband drove by the scene and saw hazmat teams and multiple police officers.
“You’re not used to seeing this kind of activity,” Harm said.
One neighbor, who asked not to be identified, described a tense moment when armed federal agents crowded the front door of the home.
“He was just wearing his underwear,” the neighbor said. “It’s cold out and they put him in handcuffs.”
Neighbors noted the residents of the home often worked in their garage and had kept to themselves.
