SAN ANTONIO — Football took a brief back seat to fun as the USC Trojans and TCU Horned Frogs soaked up a day at SeaWorld San Antonio ahead of the Valero Alamo Bowl.
As part of a long-standing holiday tradition tied to the bowl game, players, coaches and staff from both teams stepped away from game prep to enjoy one of the city’s signature attractions.
According to SeaWorld, the experience included a behind-the-scenes dolphin interaction at Discovery Point, where players traded football pads for wetsuits and entered the chilly water to interact with bottlenose dolphins. The adrenaline continued on Tidal Surge, SeaWorld’s 135-foot swing ride that sends riders soaring above the park at speeds nearing 70 miles per hour.
SeaWorld officials said the outing offered a welcome reset during bowl week, blending San Antonio hospitality with postseason celebration and it gave both teams a chance to relax and bond before shifting focus back to the field.
The Valero Alamo Bowl between USC and TCU is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Alamodome, with kickoff set for 8 p.m.
