Alamo Colleges District reaches record-breaking enrollment ahead of 2025 school year

Alamo Colleges District hits record enrollment with 87,757 students for Fall 2025, up 12.1% from 2024, amidst their 80th anniversary celebration.

SAN ANTONIO — The Alamo Colleges District has announced they have reached record-breaking enrollment for Fall 2025 semester.

With 87,757 students enrolled across its five colleges, the district exceeding its target and marks a 12.1% increase compared to 2024. 

This is the most amount of students that have ever been enrolled in the district and the milestone comes as Alamo Colleges celebrates its 80th anniversary.

“This record-breaking milestone reflects the trust our community and partners place in the Alamo Colleges and their belief in our moonshot,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor. “As we celebrate 80 years of opportunity, we are reminded that education transforms generations. Thanks to the support of our community through the bond, the launch of new workforce programs, and the expansion of our high school partnerships, we are opening doors for more students to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and our region.”

The district pointed out the following key enrollment growth highlights:

  • Dual Credit/Early College High School enrollment surged to 21,851 students, a 30.96% increase over last year, making up more than a quarter of total enrollment.
  • First-time-in-college students remain strong at 15,778, including more than 12,000+ AlamoPROMISE Scholars who attend one of the Alamo Colleges tuition-free.
  • Continuing students climbed to 42,131, nearly a 13% increase, reflecting strong persistence and wraparound support.

During the fall, the district will work with 84 institutional partners, including 46 independent school districts, 21 charters and 17 private schools.

Students will have access to 28 Early College High Schools, with three new programs launching this year and two more planned for 2026, and 23 Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH), including four new programs this fall and nine more in 2026.

The district says this record enrollment aligns with the their vision to strengthen education and workforce connections and is supported by the recently approved $987 million bond.

“With a projected enrollment of 100,000 by 2030, the Alamo Colleges District is committed to increasing access to education and training that aligns with the community and industries.”
