‘All clear’ given after bomb threat at Texas State leads to evacuations

University police are investigating.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State University in San Marcos evacuated five residence halls on Monday evening due to an “unsubstantiated bomb threat.”

University police are investigating. The buildings were evacuated “out of an abundance of caution,” the university said.

The residence halls include Butler Hall, College Inn, Derrick Hall, Jackson Hall and Tower Hall. The university said Alkek Library, LBJ Student Center and dining halls are all open for students to utilize.

University police anticipate students will return to halls later Monday evening.
