Cassie Johnson was believed to be in “grave or immediate danger,” according to the alert issued early Wednesday.

HALTOM CITY, Texas — An AMBER Alert was issued for a 12-year-old girl who went missing in Haltom City, officials said Wednesday morning.

Cassie Johnson was believed to be in “grave or immediate danger,” according to the alert issued early Wednesday.

She was last seen Monday leaving North Oaks Middle School at around 11:15 a.m. on foot, police said. She disappeared after crossing the railroad tracks next to the school’s library, according to a police news release. The school is located off Glenview Drive and Old Denton Road.

Johnson did not go home Monday and has not been heard from since, police said. She left behind her Chromebook computer and her cell phone.

No suspects have been named by authorities.

Police described Johnson as about five feet, five inches tall and 140 pounds with long braids. She was wearing a black hoodie with a purple design on the front that said “Venom,” according to the police news release. She was also wearing black or gray pants and black Converse high-top shoes, the alert said.

Police said they were hoping she was staying at a friend’s house, and they also noted that she has friends who live in Fort Worth.

Anyone who sees Johnson is asked to call 911 or Haltom City police at 817-222-7000.
