Construction on the massive resort is set to begin in early 2025.
CEDAR PARK, Texas — A new resort aims to bring its hot springs concept out of the mountains and into Texas.
WorldSprings will allow you to travel the world without a passport with its oasis planned for Cedar Park.
The resort features 46 pools inspired by nine global destinations to create the country’s largest mineral springs resort. Forty-one of the pools will be mineral hot springs, along with three cold plunges and two freshwater pools. There will also be barrel saunas, food, and a full-service bar.
Pools in the South Pacific Region will be available for all ages, while pools in the European, Americas, and Asiatic regions will be for adults only.
Concerns over water usage
During a city council meeting, Cedar Park leaders expressed concern over the amount of water used by the resort.
“I feel like ‘we’re not the worst’ isn’t really a selling point … What are you guys doing to push the envelope on water conservation? … More than two-thirds of this property is now parking lot [instead] of greenspace,” Heather Jefts said during a meeting earlier this year.
Officials with WorldSprings said their water is recirculated and changed out every three months, or as necessary, to ease concerns over water conservation. They also said pools are covered at night to help with evaporation and that their water usage is lower compared to other commercial businesses.
“This is more of a destination than just a community pool,” Councilmember Mel Kirland said. “It’s something completely different.”
WorldSprings Cedar Park will be built near East New Hope and Scottsdale Drive, directly across US 183A from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Filings obtained by KVUE show construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025 with hopes of completing the project by May 2026.
WorldSprings will open its location near Dallas on June 28, with another location planned in Houston for 2025.
