ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — An angler recently reeled in a huge bass on an East Texas lake.

According to the Toyota ShareLunker Program by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), Alec Morrison caught a 13.82-pounder, which qualifies as a Legacy Lunker, on Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

ShareLunker classes include:

Legacy Lunker – If you catch a 13+ pound bass and loan it to the TPWD during the spawning period (January-March), you support their selective breeding program and will be recognized as a member of the Lunker Legacy Class.

Lew’s Legend – Out of the millions of bass anglers in Texas, only a select few have ever crossed the 13-pound threshold. The TPWD recognizes these anglers as part of the Lew’s Legend Class.

Strike King Elite – Anglers everywhere dream of catching a double-digit bass! When you reach that goal in Texas, you will be recognized in the Strike King Elite Class.

Bass Pro Shops Lunker – Catch a lunker that is at least 8 lbs. or 24 inches to become part of the ShareLunker program and be recognized in the Bass Pro Shops Lunker Class
