Popular San Antonio bar Elsewhere Garden Bar & Eatery recently announced that it plans on bringing a new feature to its downtown hang. For children and the big kids at heart (also known as adults), the favorite River Walk spot will have a cool new slide next spring.
Terrin Fuhrmann, who owns the business with Nolan Ellis, told MySA that the 20-foot slide is from the American Slide Company in El Paso. He said that it’s the same slide company that implemented features at the Friendly Spot Ice House in San Antonio. The company also built a slide for the set of the DC superhero film Birds of Prey, according to its website.
“Obviously kids will use it during the day but its real purpose was for big kids (the adults) to have fun taking Instagram pics with,” Fuhrmann said, adding how the slide will be on a tree-like structure that will be 15 feet high and 10 feet wide.

The new slide will be for adults and children.

The new feature will be added in March, according to Elsewhere.

Elsewhere said it’s aiming for March for the slide to be enjoyed by the public.
The popular spot has big plans for 2023. In addition to the new slide, Elsewhere plans to expand on the city’s Northside near NW Military and Loop 1604. Elsewhere Too will have a large Ferris wheel, a 370-square-foot bar, and a 2,5000-square-foot old Victorian greenhouse, which can be used for private events and weddings.
Like the downtown location, guests can expect topiary sculptures and “weird art.” The renderings show that there will be a flower tunnel when you enter the new space. The downtown spot has become one of the go-to outdoor bars since it opened in February 2020.
