Arch Manning to remain at Texas for 2026, sources say

Manning’s future had been uncertain regarding whether he would enter the 2026 NFL Draft.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas quarterback Arch Manning will stay in Austin for at least another year, according to ESPN’s Dave Wilson.

Wilson reported that Manning’s father, Cooper Manning, confirmed the decision in a text message, writing, “Arch is playing football at Texas next year.”

Arch Manning’s future had been uncertain regarding whether he would enter the 2026 NFL Draft.

This season marked Arch Manning’s first as the full-time starter. He led Texas to a 6-1 record in the second half of the year and helped the team make a late push for the College Football Playoff, finishing just outside the top 12 at No. 13. Arch Manning has completed 227 of 370 passes for 2,942 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions – only two of which came in the final seven games. He’s also added eight rushing touchdowns.

Before turning the page to next season, Manning has one game left to close out 2025. The Longhorns face Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT on KVUE.
