Argument over loud animals ends with man fatally shot, police say

What initially began as an argument turned deadly when both men pulled out weapons and fired at each other.

SAN ANTONIO — A late-night shootout in a west-side neighborhood ends with one man dead, according to SAPD.

Now police are trying to figure if one of those neighbors will be facing any charges.

It happened around 11 p.m. Saturday off the 200 block of Balboa Avenue near Castroville road.

Investigators say two neighbors got into an argument about animals running loose  and being loud when the two men both pulled out guns and starting shooting at each other. A man in his 30s was killed in the exchange of gunfire, and the other man, who is 70 years old, was also shot and rushed to the hospital.

Police haven’t said yet if the surviving neighbor will be facing any charges.

Detectives are still trying to sort it all out.
