SAN ANTONIO — A woman was shot in the shoulder and carjacked by two men in ski masks on the east side of town early Friday morning.
San Antonio Police were called out to the 100 block of Elaine Road around 6 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress. When officers arrived at the home, they found a 21-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her shoulder.
The victim told officers that she was leaving for work and backing out of her driveway when the armed suspects blocked her car with their vehicle. Police say they were wearing ski masks, and told her to get out of her car.
The woman said she was complying when one of the suspects began shooting, hitting her on the shoulder, before they fled the area. The men also hit another car nearby, as well as the family home.
“It’s usually quiet, there’s no commotion,” said one neighbor, Bill Hatfield. “This is the worst we’ve ever had.”
Police say the suspects are between 20 and 30 years old, and they were driving a small black sedan. Authorities are encouraging neighbors to check their security cameras to see if any clues were captured from about 6 a.m. on.
The woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
