Armored car driver pepper-sprayed and robbed near bank on northeast side, police say

SAN ANTONIO — A Brinks armored car driver was robbed and pepper-sprayed near a bank on the northeast side, police say.

The incident happened just after noon in the 1400 block of Austin Highway. 

Police on the scene said three or four men wearing dark hoodies ambushed the Brinks driver as he was servicing the ATM. The men reportedly pepper-sprayed the driver and grabbed his bag.

The suspects got away in a black, late model Chevy Tahoe. There is no word on how much, if any, cash they got away with.
