Army files multiple charges, dozens of specifications against former Fort Hood gynecologist

Maj. Blaine McGraw, a suspended Fort Hood OBGYN, faces 61 specifications, including indecent recording of 44 victims.

FORT HOOD, Texas — The U.S. Army Office of Special Trial Counsel on Tuesday preferred four charges and 61 specifications against Maj. Blaine McGraw, a 47-year-old OBGYN assigned to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood.

McGraw faces 54 specifications for indecent visual recording, five specifications of conduct unbecoming an officer, one specification of willful disobedience of a superior officer and one specification of making a false official statement, in alleged violations of Articles 120c, 133, 90 and 107 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The alleged offenses occurred between Jan. 1 and Dec. 1, 2025, primarily during medical examinations with female patients. One victim, who was not a patient, was allegedly secretly video recorded at a private residence near Fort Hood. In total, 44 victims are involved in the case.

Now that charges have been preferred, a neutral officer will be assigned to conduct a preliminary hearing to determine if probable cause exists for each charged offense. The Office of Special Trial Counsel will then review the hearing officer’s report and available evidence to decide whether to refer the charges to a general court-martial. If referred, the case will be assigned to a military judge, who will schedule an arraignment, motion hearings, and the trial.

McGraw remains in pretrial confinement at the Bell County Jail in Belton, Texas. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

McGraw faces allegations involving more than 100 individuals across multiple states for secretly recording patients during their exams. The claims involve patients from Fort Hood, Darnall Army Medical Center and Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.

“These reports are deeply concerning and indescribably horrific. I and my staff are in contact with the Army and monitoring their investigation. I’m committed to ensuring a full accounting of the facts and that justice is served,” said Senator Ted Cruz in a statement.

McGraw is being held at the Bell County Jail as an inmate of the U.S. Army.

The Army has established a single point of coordination for victim support and services related to this case. The point of coordination is the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) at Fort Hood at 254-449-6097.
