LONE STAR, Texas — Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a 22-year-old man died from a suspected overdose in an East Texas town.
According to the Lone Star Police Department, the man was found unresponsive lying in the street in the 100 block of Ponder Street in Lone Star around 5 a.m. Monday. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from a suspected overdose.
While on the scene, officers found a white crystal substance that field tested positive for having methamphetamine and fentanyl. Officers searched a home in the area on Wednesday and Keenan Wesley was taken into custody for a bond revocation warrant out of Cass County, police said.
When Wesley was being searched, officers found a glass meth pipe with residue inside and a baggie of meth on his person. Police say back in August, Wesley was arrested along with another person at this same address for possession of a controlled substance.
“LSPD is actively investigating the circumstance of the man death and will accept any valid information the community can provide,” the Lone Star Police Department said.
