SAN ANTONIO — More than a year after a man was shot and killed outside a popular west-side bar on New Year’s Day, San Antonio police have arrested one of the suspects accused in the deadly ambush.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, 39-year-old Mark Howard Anthony was taken into custody Saturday and charged with murder in the killing of Marcus Robinson-Tynes, 37.
The shooting happened in the early morning hours of January 1, 2025, in the parking lot of the Stout House Bar on Potranco Road.
Investigators say Robinson-Tynes had been inside the bar before tensions between two groups escalated into arguments that eventually spilled into the parking lot.
According to the affidavit, the confrontation turned physical, with multiple people fighting outside.
Detectives say Robinson-Tynes tried to intervene and used his truck to position himself between the groups.
That’s when police say Anthony and another suspect pulled out handguns and began shooting.
Robinson-Tynes was struck in the back of the head while sitting in his truck. Officers found him still inside the vehicle when they arrived.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died less than an hour later.
The arrest affidavit states investigators relied on surveillance video, witness statements, and vehicle information to identify Anthony and another suspect as the shooters.
Anthony is currently being held in the Bexar County Jail on a $125,000 bond.
According to the affidavit and online court records, a second suspect remains outstanding.
The investigation remains ongoing.
