HOUSTON — Houston’s long run of postseason appearances has come to a close. The Astros, who had made the playoffs every year since 2016, have officially been eliminated from playoff contention after a disappointing stretch to end the regular season.
Both the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians secured victories on Saturday, which sealed Houston’s fate before the Astros even took the field against the Angels.
During that time, Houston secured two World Series championships.
Cleveland beats the Rangers on a walk-off hit by pitch. The #Astros will not make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. @KHOU
