Atascosa County renews push to find mother missing for more than 10 years

The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office intensifies efforts to find Michelle Longoria Villarreal, missing since 2014, with a $5,000 reward as her family seeks answers.

ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office is renewing the push to find amother missing for more than 12 years.

Michelle Longoria Villarreal was last seen Jan. 31, 2014, and reported missing to the sheriff’s office March 10, 2014. Over the years, investigators received tips on her whereabouts, but they all ended up not leading anywhere.

This week, Atascosa County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to finding her or an indictment on anyone tied to her disappearance.

Her family says the last time anyone saw her was when she left her home in Charlotte, Texas, which is southwest of Jourdanton. Her daughter, Chelsea Lara, says a family friend saw her walking down the road.

“When she turned around to pick her up, I guess somebody else had already picked her up,” Lara said in an interview with KENS 5 last year. “I say foul play. I say something happened to her.”

If you know anything about this case, call Atascosa Crime Stoppers at 830-769-2255.
