
Due to an incoming arctic blast, some organizations are cancelling their scheduled activities for Saturday.
SAN ANTONIO — Freezing temperatures and a potential wintry mix are forecast for Saturday and Sunday, prompting some schools to cancel scheduled activities. Follow weather updates here.

Closings and cancellations:
- The Alamo: Due to the upcoming inclement winter weather conditions, the Alamo will delay opening on Sunday, January 25, and Monday, January 26, 2026, until 12 p.m. The safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority, and we are committed to providing an environment that is both welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
- Boeing: Due to anticipated inclement weather, Boeing announced its hiring event scheduled for Saturday has been postponed. The event will now take place the following Saturday, Jan. 31.
- Briscoe Western Art Museum: The downtown San Antonio museum said it was cancelling its Wild West Wildlife Festival scheduled for Saturday, and closing to the public on that day. Museum staff said they would continue to assess the situation before deciding about potentially reopening on Sunday.
- City of New Braunfels: Das Rec, the New Braunfels Public Library, the Westside Community Center, the Civic/Convention Center,and the New Braunfels National Airport will remain open with normal hours of operation over the weekend.
• The Landa Park Golf Course will be closed beginning Saturday and lasting until Tuesday (1/27) at 12pm.
• Police, Fire & EMS, Public Works, and Solid Waste pick up will continue operations as normal. Please note:
There are currently no changes to the schedule for residential or commercial garbage and recycling pickup.

City’s social media platforms.
• Restrooms, water fountains, and other facilities in all City parks have been winterized and will be closed on
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and will remain closed until freezing - Community Bible Church: Due to impending cold and icy weather, Community Bible Church (CBC) has canceled all in-person services at all five campuses this weekend. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution, with the safety of our church family, staff, and volunteers as the top priority. CBC will stream a special online service this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and encourages the community to join from home. - Pearl Market: Due to expected inclement weather, we are canceling Pearl Markets this weekend to ensure the safety of our vendors, staff, and visitors. While we try our best to stay warm, our farmers are out protecting livestock and covering crops in freezing conditions. No snow days for them, and a canceled market means lost perishables and income.
- San Antonio Zoo: Officials at the zoo said they were “activating comprehensive cold-weather protocols” to protect animals in the facility’s care.
- SeaWorld: The park said it would be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
- Six Flags Fiesta Texas: The park will close Jan. 24-25 and reopen as scheduled on Jan. 31. Tickets for Jan. 24-25 will be good for any other operating day.
