Austin-based Pinthouse Pizza expands to San Antonio with new brewpub

The new location is expected to increase production by about 3,500 barrels annually, helping meet demand across Central and South Texas.

SAN ANTONIO — An Austin favorite known for craft beer and pizza is officially making its San Antonio debut.

Pinthouse Pizza San Antonio announced its opening on the city’s northwest side, marking the first expansion outside of Austin for the popular Texas brewpub.

The new 10,800-square-foot space is located in the Landmark North Pad development and brings the brand’s mix of house-brewed beer, handmade pizzas and beer hall-style atmosphere to the Alamo City, according to a press release.

Officials said the opening is a major step for the Austin-based brewery, which has spent more than a decade building a following for its hop-forward beers. The new location is expected to increase production by about 3,500 barrels annually, helping meet demand across Central and South Texas.

Inside, the brewpub features a large communal beer hall with custom design elements, including a brass map installation and open seating meant to create a lively, social setting, according to the release.

The announcement stated at least 18 beers are on tap to start, including fan favorites like Electric Jellyfish Hazy IPA, Magical Pils and Burro’s Breakfast Mexican Lager, along with rotating seasonal and small-batch brews made on-site.

According to the press release, the food menu centers on Austin-style pizzas made with house dough, with options ranging from classic pepperoni to specialty pies like the Ooh La La and Texas Chicken Ranch. The kitchen also serves shareable appetizers, sandwiches, salads and desserts

Officials said Pinthouse Pizza San Antonio is designed to be family-friendly, catering to everything from casual dinners to group hangouts. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring discounted drinks and select appetizers. Weekday lunch specials are also available.

The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
