Austin Pets Alive! teams up with Kerrville shelter amid flood rescue efforts

Austin Pets Alive! is assisting Kerrville Pets Alive! by taking in some of that shelter’s animals so it can help animals affected by Friday’s floods.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Pets Alive! is helping out in the aftermath of the deadly floods in Kerr County.

The shelter is taking in some animals from Kerrville Pets Alive!, as part of an effort to make room for the Kerrville shelter to take in animals that got lost during Friday’s floods.

“We’re going to be bringing in more cats and dogs here to Austin Pets Alive! within the next 24 hours,” Suzie Chase of Austin Pets Alive! said Friday. “The greatest need that we have right now is for people to donate to us so that it can help with our medical care.”

If anyone is interested in helping out, Austin Pets Alive! is asking for emergency fosters to take in the incoming animals. They’re also asking for donations of dog and cat food, carriers, tarps and towels.
