
Police advise drivers to expect delays as crowds march in the area.
AUSTIN, Texas — As the official “No Kings” protest at the Texas Capitol ended, police closed a number of streets in Downtown Austin as protesters began walking through downtown.
The Austin Police Department has closed 11th Street in both directions, eastbound starting at San Jacinto Boulevard and westbound at Lavaca Street. Congress Avenue has also been shut down in both directions at 10th Street.
APD said a large crowd is walking in the roadways. The crowd is expected to walk the following route:
- South on Congress Avenue
- West on 6th Street
- North on Lavaca Street
- East on 9th Street
- North on Congress Avenue
