Austin police locate man who previously went missing near Rainey Street

APD said 40-year-old Daniel Choi was found safe as of July 1.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department has located a man who was previously reported missing.

Before being found, Daniel Choi was last seen on Saturday afternoon around 1 p.m. in the 600 block of Davis Street, near Rainey Street. Choi’s friends said they found his phone over four hours later on the ground at Cesar Chavez and South First streets.

APD was concerned because the 40-year-old needed medications and had no wallet or phone with him at the time he was missing.

Before APD found Choi, he was last seen wearing blue swim shorts with a bird print and a blue T-shirt. He is around 5 feet, 8 inches tall with straight, black hair and has limited use of his right arm.
