
Austin advances to the G League West Conference Finals.
SAN ANTONIO — The Austin Spurs have advanced to the G League Western Conference Finals after defeating the Salt Lake City Stars 123-113 at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, TX.
After hanging on to a slim 68-58 halftime lead over the Stars, Austin took control of the game in the third period, up 102-77 heading into the final period.
Salt Lake City did close the gap in the fourth period, out-scoring Austin 33-17, but the Spurs maintained their lead, capitalizing on Stars’ fouls and turnovers in the final frame.
Austin was led by Malachi Flynn’s 28 points, with David Duke Jr. adding 23 and 13 rebounds. Jameer Nelson Jr. scored 20, while San Antonio Spurs two-way player Harrison Ingram finished with 16 and 14 rebounds. Kyle Mangas added 15.
Austin shot 43% for the game, recorded 49 rebounds and nine steals, and connected on 38% from the three-point line.
Austin will take on the winner of the Stockton Kings and Valley Suns. If the Kings win, Austin will travel, but if the Suns win, Austin will host the game in San Antonio.
