MONTGOMERY, Texas — Since launching a new task force focused on illegal street takeovers in Harris and Montgomery counties, authorities have conducted over 300 traffic stops.
“A new task force is being formed to ensure that those who are coming from all over for a local car show and choose to break our laws, disrupt our way of life, and expose our community to dangers will not be tolerated,” MCSO said in a news release earlier this week.
Law enforcement officers from across Montgomery and Harris County, representing 23 agencies, joined forces for this new initiative, which is under the leadership of Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle.
On the first night of the weekend-long enforcement operation, authorities said they prevented multiple attempted parking lot takeovers.

We are a law and order community, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy their hometown without fear of injury by reckless drivers or illegal activity,” Sheriff Doolittle said. “The teamwork and dedication from every deputy, officer, and trooper last night proved that when we work together, we win together by keeping our community safe.”
