Autograph seeker drops David Robinson’s jersey to the ground after the Spurs great kindly declines to sign

David Robinson calmly declines an autograph request, leaving a fan visibly upset after dropping his jersey in frustration.

SAN ANTONIO — There’s a time and place for fans to seek autographs from professional players, and this moment might not have been the best time for one autograph seeker.

During the NCAA Final Four weekend festivities in San Antonio, Spurs icon David Robinson attended an event but was busy with his responsibilities during his appearance.

However, a fan approached Robinson to ask if he could sign his No. 50 jersey. The Hall of Famer kindly refused to sign, did not get upset, and quickly explained that he was busy at the moment.

That’s when the fan turned his back to Robinson, dropped the jersey in front of him to the ground in frustration, and walked off.

A confused Robinson stares at the jersey but soon realizes the man is upset he was refused his signature. He ultimately scoffs at it all.

And it was all caught on video:

This might have been bad timing for the individual to seek an autograph, and he clearly caught Robinson while he was preoccupied. In addition, the man is not entitled to Robinson’s autograph just because he asked.

Also, Robinson had a designated time on Saturday to meet with fans, which would have been an appropriate time for the person to ask him for his autograph.

It should be noted that Robinson is an outstanding person. He handled the situation calmly and did the right thing by blowing off the man as he walked away.

It’s why “The Admiral” is respected and beloved in San Antonio.
