Baby born in Lucas Oil Stadium during Colts vs. Browns game

Tylan Jones, the cousin of David Bell, a Warren Central grad playing for the Browns, went into labor at the stadium.

INDIANAPOLIS — Tylan Jones had everything planned for the delivery of her third baby, but baby Kimmarie wanted to make a big entrance.

“I had a talk with her and said, ‘You cannot come on this day,'” Jones said.

While at the Indianapolis Colts game against Cleveland Sunday, watching her cousin David Bell, a wide receiver for the Browns, Jones went into labor. She delivered Kimmarie at Lucas Oil Stadium with the help of a team of medics from IU Health.

“I’ll just tell her she’s a Lucas Oil baby,” she said.

Bell is a Warren Central High School grad who went on to star at Purdue University. His entire family came to the game, and he gained a new fan by the end.

“He was shocked,” she said. “I think he’s happy about it.”

Jones said she has had all three of her kids during Bell’s football career and Kimmarie may be his new lucky charm.

A person with the IU Health team said they are prepared for any medical emergency at the stadium, but this was their first baby delivery. Jones said she is thankful for what they did, but still feels overwhelmed from that moment.

“I’m still in shock. Everyone comes in and is like, ‘You had a crazy day,'” she said.

Jones said she and Kimmarie is doing well and the family got two wins on Sunday – with a newborn baby and a 39-38 Browns victory over the Colts.
