Barnes and Noble at Bandera is closing and relocating

People living on the Far Westside near Helotes may have to do their book shopping at a Half Price books soon as a Barnes & Noble in the area is closing to make way for a clothing store. The Barnes & Noble at Bandera Pointe shopping center will be closing its doors soon, freeing up the space for a Nordstrom Rack.

An employee at the store confirmed that the store will shut its doors permanently at 11711 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78250. The employee didn’t have a definitive date for the closure, but said that they also plan to relocate the store to the Forum at Olympia Parkway.

MySA reported in early October that Nordstrom planned on opening a Nordstrom Rack at Bandera Pointe. A recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a Nordstrom Rack has the same address as the Barnes & Noble at the shopping center. Nordstrom Rack didn’t say in it’s announcement when it planned on opening the 25,000-square-foot store, but the TDLR filing has a completion date in July 2024.
